“Art” Events

Beginning with traditional forms of drawing, this 4-week class will start by teaching comparative measurement, and the basic techniques artists have used to draw for hundreds of years.

Using printmaking paper and Golden Open Acrylics, you’ll learn how to create rich, layered images through both additive marks (painting and drawing directly on the plate) and reductive techniques (wiping, lifting, and masking from an inked plate).

This class will cover everything from basic woodworking with hand tools to cutting glass to archival matting for artwork.

Using Speedy Carve, a soft and flexible rubber block that's easy to work with, you'll transfer a design of your choice onto the block, carve away the negative space with lino cutters, and use a brayer and ink to pull your prints.

You will learn about different artists throughout art history and how to use their techniques to approach painting in new ways.

In this class, we’ll address how to approach both these subjects so students will feel confident drawing everything!
